Some people will pick up aluminum cans, but not tires. This photo tells the story. There is about a 15" or 18" dropoff along the edge of Route 2 (near Mount Alto). You might be surprised to know that it looked nearly the same a year ago when this area was showcased on PleaseDoNotLitter.com. (Maybe someone will fix it if someone gets killed). This photo also tells the story. This tire was in the road ditch a year ago, and it is still there. It looks like someone has moved it up out of the ditchline a little bit, but no one picked it up and disposed of it properly. I wonder how many state vehicles have passed this tire in the past year? Is this a case of "pure laziness", or is the highway system in West Virginia in such a crisis that the DOH has to resort to make some additional revenue by requiring some businesses to pay money for a business sign permit (it's pretty bad when some businesses can't even have their business sign on their own property ..... you can read the details about this on the LastOneOutTurnOffTheLights.com website).
